Conference Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are needed to assist with advance planning as well as staffing events during the conference. We are looking for MANY people to help make this event a success - people who have both a lot and a little time to offer to get involved.

Current list of volunteer activities, approximate number of people, location & date (all details to be confirmed at orientation):

1. COS Group Activities- at DePaul, 2, date TBA
2. Global Education Workshop- hotel, 2, August 5th
3. Hospitality room- hotel, 2-3, all day (in shifts), each day
4. Opening, Flag, and Closing ceremonies- hotel, 35-40, August 6th & 8th Workshop Hosts- hotel, 6-7, August 6th & 8th, 4 hour shifts
5. Monitors for Special Events- hotel, various, each day
6. Material preparation and other detail- hotel, various, each day
7. Picnic/ Softball game- TBA, 5, August 8th
8. Founder’s Day- hotel, 5-12, August 6 (setup) and 7th
9. Career Fair- hotel, 5, all day in shifts, August 6th
10. Floaters

Please consider the following:

1. We would like you to commit to a 2-4 hour block of time (depending on the activity) for at least one day during the conference.

2. We need you to tell us your availability.

3. We need your full contact information- email, phone, full home address, country of service.

4. We encourage you to select at least two activities (an alternative) from the list below.

5. Will you be flexible if we need you elsewhere?

6. Tell us which volunteer orientation you will attend from the choices below.


Next, we strongly encourage you to attend either of the following Volunteer Orientation Days:

• Session A: Thursday, July 29th, 5:30- 7:00, Palmer House, 7th Floor

• Session B: Monday, August 2nd, 5:30- 7:00, Palmer House, 7th Floor

At this orientation, you will have the opportunity to learn more about assignments, sign up for activities, pick up a packet, and ask questions.
