Volunteer Activity with H.O.M.E.

Details:   Saturday, August 7, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

                 Meet in the Palmer House Hilton Lobby at 9 a.m.

Relive the experience of volunteering and giving back to a community during the Conference. Volunteers will work with H.O.M.E. (Housing Opportunities and Maintenance for the Elderly) painting the residences and common areas of a low-income senior citizens' home in Chicago's Rogers Park neighborhood. Volunteers will meet in the Palmer House lobby at 9 a.m. on Saturday, August 7 and travel as a group by el train to the project site. H.O.M.E. will supply all of the needed materials. Volunteers just need to dress in clothes they don't mind getting a little paint on and a desire to help.

The Chicago Area Peace Corps Association has volunteered with H.O.M.E. on numerous occasions and it has always been a very positive experience to share stories of Peace Corps, make new friends, spend time with old friends, and do something positive for the community.
